| I've been shooting 35mm since I was 14, when my Dad bought me my first SLR, 50mm lens and a 2x converter. These days, I shoot full frame digital 12.7mp. I tend to favour geometric shapes and I enjoy a simplistic compostion. I uses to employ a fair amount of filters, I still prefer optical filters over digital ones. I favour the filters from Lee, but these days I'm finding that I need to fake the colours less because I like to shoot in the best available light. My real photographic passions are low light land/sea scape style of shots. But I still get to shoot macro, architecture, portaiture and reportage every now and then. I am a member of The Swindon Photographic Society and I regularly place work in their advanced print competitions. In prvious years, I have won both the primary Black and White Prints and Colour Prints categories at our Annual Exhbition (the best of our work is displayed and judged). I like to be very versatile in my shooting style, I don't like to get into a rut with my art. I'll shoot a spate of Sunsets then I'll go and shoot some Archetcture. Followed by some Still life. As a result, my gallery is very compehensive and covers a broad base. I'm sure that you'll find pieces here that will appeal. And I am considering putting a submission together for a membership with the RPS. |
